Happy National Peach Ice Cream Day!

Hi Mini Friends,

Did you know that today is actually National Peach Ice Cream Day?  Well, I decided to make peach ice cream with a peach pie, but I did not finish the pie in time.  So, I decided to put a couple of scoops of ice cream into a bowl.  I added pieces of a peach into the ice cream to make it look like real peach ice cream.  I added a little liquid clay to make it look like the ice cream was melting.  Lastly, I added a few slice of peaches to the bowl.

Triple Layer Chocolate Miniature Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

Today I saw another picture online with a life size real chocolate cake.  It was not like any regular chocolate cake.  This was a 3 layer naked chocolate cake with chocolate drizzle flowing down each layer.  The top had chocolate curled shavings.  So, of course, I had to try the cake.  It was just so cute and yummy.  So, I made the cake.

Everything turned out ok.  I am still having a hard time with the drizzle look.  It is a little harder to get the tls to look like more of a pouring liquid. Then, I added the "chocolate curls" to the top of the cake.  I tried baking the chocolate first.  But the curls just fell apart.  So then I tried shaving the raw clay and wrapping the curls around a toothpick.  That technique worked a little better.  So here is the final project.

Dollhouse Miniature Macaron Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

I wanted to make another Macaron Cake.  I still wanted bright, summer colors, but I wanted to change the colors a little.  So I decided to to make a regular vanilla cake with the yellow, pink and purple as the icing between the layers.  The cake was coated with white icing.  Then I colored the outside of the cake with pink and purple to make it look like an ombre/watercolor look.  I made more macarons.  I also sliced them in half and added more white icing on top.  Then I cut the yellow, pink and purple into several pieces to make confetti to put on top of the cake.

Dollhouse Miniature Macaron Cake

Dollhouse Miniature Ice Cream Cone Cake

Hi everyone,

Well, I loved the Ice Cream Cone Cake so much that I decided to make another one.  Instead of making a life size cake I decided to make another mini.  They are just too cute!  This one is a strawberry flavor ice cream.  I also made the layers/icing in the cake a little different to match the ice cream on top.  These are so much fun to make!

Dollhouse Miniature Ice Cream Cone Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

I was searching online for food recipes.  Somehow my mind always runs back to mini land.  And then I started searching desserts, well, cakes.  Then I found this adorable cake online and I just had to try it in miniature size.  It is an ice cream cone cake.  The cone is flipped upside down with one scoop of ice cream.  Then, drizzle the ice cream down the cake to make it look like it is melting.  Finally, add a few sprinkles.  I love it!  It turned out so cute!  I like the melting ice cream look.  Now, I really want to try the real life size ice cream cone cake that gave the inspiration, or maybe just make another miniature ice cream cone cake!

Dollhouse Miniature Apple Pie

Hi Mini Friends,

Since it is hot and we are celebrating summer, I decided to make a pie.  I tried making a Lattice Apple Pie.  This pie is made in 1:6 Play Scale.  The barbie hand is pictured for reference to the size of the pie.  The sides of the crust didn't turn out as planned.  I should have made a little "apple sauce" drip from the inside of the pie to make it look freshly cut and real.  Well, there is always next time!  Back to baking in the mini kitchen...

Dollhouse Miniature July 4th Pinwheel Cake

Hello Mini Friends,

We are only one day away from celebrating July 4th.  Since I wanted to keep with the red, white & blue theme, I decided to make a layered cake.  I wanted a red layer and a blue layer.  I really could not decide.  So, I finally decided on red & blue layers for the cake.  I covered the cake with white icing.  I then wanted a cute July 4th symbol on the cake.  I thought the pinwheel would look really cute to bring in the red & blue layers.  This was actually my first pinwheel that I have made out of clay.  I was really happy that it turned out so cute.  I then added some red & blue sprinkles to the top next to the pinwheel.  This was a fun cake.  I really want to make more pinwheels.

Dollhouse Miniature Strawberry Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

I have been baking in the mini kitchen.  I tried to stay with the red, white & blue theme for the holiday weekend.  So instead of cherries, I decided to move to strawberries.  I tried a new rectangle cake.  I usually make the easy round cakes.  This time I wanted a little square/rectangle cake.  I cut 2 slices out of the cake.  The icing between the layers are a red strawberry color.  The outside is decorated with a white icing and trim around the top and bottom.  Finally, I added strawberry cane slices around the top.

Dollhouse Miniature Cherry Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

Since July 4th is right around the corner, I decided to get rid of the "watermelon season" and move to cherries!  So today I made a layered cherry flavor cake.   The inside of the cake is a light fluffy cream cake.  I added cherry layers between.  And for the top, I added a little red confetti on top of white icing.

Dollhouse Miniature Watermelon Cupcakes

Hi Mini Friends,

Since I have been making the watermelon fruit bowls, the prep board and the watermelon cake, I figured we needed a little more watermelon.  So today I decided to make watermelon cupcakes.

I made the cupcake base the same light green color as the outside of the watermelon cake.  I then made the tops to the cupcakes the same color as the watermelon cake.  Lastly, I added watermelon "seeds" to the top of the cupcakes to make it look like a real watermelon.

Dollhouse Miniature Watermelon Cake

Hi Mini Friends,

Since I have been making watermelon bowls and watermelon prep boards, I decided I needed a little more watermelon.  I needed to make a watermelon cake!

So, I made a 2 layer cake.  The inside portion of the cake, is a little red with "seeds" on the inside.  I layered a light green icing on the outside to mimic the watermelon rind.  I really could not decide on a color for the inside.  I thought to add more of a red shade for the inside, but I thought it would just blend into the other layers.  I thought about white, but finally decided on the same green shade as the outside layer.  I planned to add a white whipped cream to the top center of the cake and forgot until after it was baked.  So, I was a little late.  I think it looks cute even without a topping.

Dollhouse Miniature Watermelon Fruit Bowl Prep Board

Hi Mini Friends,

Since I made watermelon fruit bowls, I decided to make a prep board too.  I took part of the rind and left over clay.  I then added it to a board with a little liquid clay and chalk to make the red watermelon juice.  I then added a few extra blueberries, orange cane and starfuit cane to the board.  Oh, then I added a few "seeds" to the board to make it really look like I just finished cutting up the watermelon.

Dollhouse Miniature Watermelon Fruit Bowls

Hi Mini Friends,

It is officially summer and hot!  I decided to make something nice and cool for a treat.  Since I love watermelon, I wanted to make mini watermelons.  Instead of just making the plain watermelon, I tried making a watermelon bowl.  I then added watermelon balls (red), cantaloupe balls (orange), melon balls (green), blueberries, lemon cane, orange cane, starfruit cane and kiwi canes.  Oh, I added a little "watermelon juice" with the bowl.  I tried to make the watermelon stripes on the bottom, but I could not get the look.  This was a fun project!

Dollhouse Miniature Ice Cream Waffle Bowls

Hi Mini Friends,

It is summer and really hot.  So, I decided that everyone needs a little ice cream during the summer months.  Instead of just making regular ice cream cones, again, I decided to make an ice cream sundae.  Then I wanted a little extra type of ice cream with candy and cookies and lots of sprinkles.

So, today I have ice cream waffle bowls with candy, cookies and lots of sprinkles!  I couldn't decide on a flavor, so I made a little of everything, vanilla, strawberry and mint chocolate chip.  Then I topped the waffle bowls with a little bit of everything.
